Connection help
AI connections is part of the Brixit release, enabled by default from version 2.2.33. Your normal update installs the feature using your existing CRM address. You do not need to edit server files, run database commands or give Brixit access to your server.
Start in User profile → AI connections, copy your server URL and follow the guide for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. The assistant only gains access after you sign in and approve the connection.
If AI connections is missing
First check your avatar or name menu in the top-right corner: AI connections is in User profile, alongside Profile settings, and opens in the same dialog.
If it is still missing, check your Brixit version and Settings → Updates. If your company controls when updates are installed, ask the person responsible for updates to install the release. If the feature is still unavailable after updating, contact support with the version and message shown.
Check your connection
- Ask the assistant to show your connected profile and company without changing anything.
- Ask for a record you can already view in Brixit and compare the result.
- Try a report with explicit dates and compare the filters and totals with Brixit.
- If you need notes or follow-ups, approve optional write access and confirm the intended record and action in your AI app before saving.
A successful sign-in or a list of tools does not by itself confirm that a report or action has run. Check the actual result and, for saved actions, open the record in Brixit.
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Custom connection option is missing in the AI app | Check the provider’s account, region and workspace requirements in the client guide |
| The AI app cannot reach Brixit | Copy the URL again from AI connections. If your CRM is only available on a private network, ask your company’s IT team whether it permits access from the AI provider |
| Sign-in does not finish | Start a fresh connection flow and sign in on your own CRM domain; contact support if it repeats |
| Wrong company or user | Disconnect, sign in to the intended CRM account and reconnect using that installation’s URL |
| Notes and follow-ups cannot be created | Check optional write consent and your CRM permissions; reconnect and refresh the AI app’s tools if you changed access |
| Contact or inquiry editing tools are missing | Install 2.2.36 or later and approve separate CRM management access. Existing write grants only allow note and follow-up creation |
| CRM management is not offered during consent | The AI app may still be requesting its previous permissions. Refresh its connection setup or remove and re-add the custom connection so it can request the updated access options. Do not edit authorization URLs manually |
| A record or report is unavailable | Check whether you can open it in Brixit with the same account and filters |
| Report seems incomplete | Check the dates, time zone, filters, totals and remaining result pages |
| Connection used to work | Confirm your Brixit account is active and login is enabled, then check the reconnect date and your AI account status. Ask your administrator about disabled access; reconnecting cannot bypass it |
| Gemini reports an invalid tool definition or cannot call any tools | Open Customize → Connectors → Brixit. If it shows Connect instead of available actions, reconnect with the same intended permissions, then retry in a conversation. If the actions load but the error remains, send support the redacted error |
| Action timed out | Check the record in Brixit for a saved note or follow-up before requesting another |
Change or remove access
Open User profile → AI connections and choose Disconnect for the relevant app to stop future access. To change permissions, reconnect and choose read only, optional write access or separate CRM management access. Removing access does not erase previous AI conversations.
When someone leaves your team
Disable their Brixit account or its login access as part of offboarding. Brixit checks the account on every MCP request, so AI apps connected by that user can no longer read data or perform actions after access is disabled. Existing connection credentials cannot bypass the check, refresh access or complete a previously approved connection.
The disabled user also cannot approve new AI connections or manage existing ones through a browser session that was opened earlier. You do not need to wait for the connection’s reconnect date for these restrictions to apply. Data already returned to an AI provider remains subject to that provider’s retention settings.
Get help
Contact Brixit support with your AI app name, Brixit version, CRM domain, time of failure and a redacted error message. Do not send passwords, access tokens, authorization callback URLs or customer records. Support can help diagnose the issue without being given access to your server.
