Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

Connecting Meta lets Brixit pull leads from your Lead Ads forms as they are submitted, so an enquiry from Facebook or Instagram arrives in the CRM rather than in a CSV export.

What you need

A Meta app, from developers.facebook.com. Create one of type Business if you do not already have one, and add the Webhooks and Facebook Login for Business products to it.

Fill in the fields

In Brixit, go to Settings → Integration keys → Lead sources → Meta Ads.

FieldWhere to find it
App IDMeta app dashboard, Settings → Basic
App SecretSame page, behind Show
Webhook Verify TokenYou invent this one — see below

The Webhook Verify Token is a password you make up. Meta sends it back to Brixit when it first calls the webhook, and Brixit checks it matches; that is the whole of its job. Any long random string works. Save it in Brixit first, then use the same value in Meta.

Register the redirect URI

Brixit shows a Redirect URI on the Meta card. Copy it, and in your Meta app add it under Facebook Login for Business → Settings → Valid OAuth Redirect URIs. It must match exactly.

Set up the webhook

In Webhooks, subscribe to the Page object and tick the leadgen field. Use the callback URL and verify token from the Brixit card. Meta verifies the endpoint immediately, so save the credentials in Brixit before you do this.

Connect your page

Back in Brixit, go to Integrations → Meta and press Connect. You will be sent to Meta to authorise, then returned. Choose the pages whose forms you want leads from.

Checking it works

Use Meta’s Lead Ads Testing Tool to submit a test lead, then look in Leads in Brixit. If nothing arrives, check the webhook is still subscribed — Meta unsubscribes endpoints that return errors.

Going live

While your app is in development mode only people with a role on it can generate leads. Submit it for App Review with the leads_retrieval permission to receive leads from the public.
